God Will Send You a Ruth

Welcome to today’s devotion. My name is Grace, and I want to encourage you with a powerful reminder: no matter what you are going through, God will always send someone to walk with you.

Life is not without struggles. Sometimes, we face challenges that leave us broken, weary, and desperate for support. In those moments, we don’t just need solutions—we need people. We need someone to lean on, a shoulder to cry on, and a faithful companion who will walk with us no matter what.

This is where the story of Naomi and Ruth speaks so powerfully into our lives.

The Story of Naomi and Ruth’s Devotion

Our scripture reference comes from Ruth 1:1-17.
After Naomi lost her husband and two sons, she decided to return to her hometown of Bethlehem. On the way, she urged her daughters-in-law to go back to their families.

But Ruth, her late son’s wife, refused. She clung to Naomi and made this life-changing declaration:

“Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go, I will go, and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people, and your God my God. Where you die, I will die, and there I will be buried.” (Ruth 1:16-17, NIV)

This is true devotion—a love and loyalty that goes beyond convenience. Ruth chose to walk with Naomi in her pain, offering companionship, support, and faithfulness when Naomi felt most empty.

God Will Send You a “Ruth”

The story of Ruth reminds us that God never leaves us alone. When we feel abandoned or hopeless, He often sends someone into our lives who will stand with us, support us, and help us move forward.

Sometimes that person might not look like an answer to prayer at first—but in reality, they are God’s provision. Your “Ruth” could be a friend, a mentor, a prayer partner, or even someone unexpected who chooses to walk with you in faith.

Prayer for Today

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, we thank You for always providing for us. Just as You sent Ruth to Naomi, we ask You to send the right people into our lives—people who will walk with us, encourage us, and strengthen us in times of need. Give us the wisdom to recognize and embrace them when they come. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

Remember

If you are in a season of loneliness or struggle, remember Naomi’s story. She returned home empty, but because of Ruth’s faithfulness, her story turned into one of redemption, hope, and blessing.

Today, hold onto this truth: you are never truly alone. God is faithful, and He will always send you the right people at the right time.
