When was the last time you faced a situation that demanded something only you could do? Maybe it was a decision you couldn’t delegate, or an action you had to take yourself. Perhaps you are in that very moment right now—pressed for time, searching for answers, and wondering how you’ll make it through.
Our guiding verse today comes from Mark 5:25–34. The story introduces us to a woman who is not called by name, but by her condition—the woman with the issue of blood. For twelve long years, she suffered greatly. She had spent everything she owned on doctors, yet her condition grew worse instead of better.
Does this sound familiar? Maybe it’s not your story, but perhaps it’s someone you know. Desperation. Pain. Doubt. Brokenness. Running out of options. Selling what you once treasured, only to feel everything slipping through your fingers. And when it seems you’ve done all you can, the final word from the world is: “There’s nothing more we can do.”
In moments like this, the heart cries out: “Lord, where do I go from here?”
But today, I want to introduce you to the God of the hopeless—the Lord who writes new chapters when you think your story has ended.
The Word tells us this woman, after exhausting all her options, heard about Jesus. Imagine: when all hope was gone, she heard the right name at the right time. And hearing about Him gave her faith to believe that if she could just touch His cloak, she would be healed.
That conviction became her strength. Weak, ashamed, and pressed by the crowd, she still moved step by step. She didn’t let fear stop her. She didn’t send anyone else to do it for her. She pressed on until she reached out and touched the garment of Jesus. And instantly—her bleeding stopped.
Here’s the question: Could it be that you’ve been touching the wrong cloaks? Maybe your help hasn’t come because you’ve been looking in the wrong places. But today, you can reach for the right one—the cloak of Jesus. His cloak carries the power to heal, to restore, and to resurrect what feels dead in your life.
Faith was the key for this woman, and it’s the same for us. Believe that Jesus can heal, and be ready to receive His power.
