Welcome to today’s devotion—whether you are strong or struggling, God’s Word has something meant for you today.
Have you ever heard powerful testimonies of God’s goodness—stories of healing, restoration, or miracles—and wondered, “Will I ever have something like that in my life?”
Our reference today comes from Judges 6:11, where the Angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon as he was hiding from the Midianites, who had been terrorizing Israel for seven years. The first thing the angel said was:
“The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.”
But Gideon’s response was surprising. He questioned, “If the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all His wonders that our ancestors told us about?”
Like Gideon, we sometimes ask:
- Why is my business failing if God is with me?
- Why is my health declining if God is with me?
- Why is my family going through so much pain if God is with me?
Instead of asking for help, we often complain—forgetting that God is still able to do far more than we can imagine.
Stop Just Listening—Ask for Your Own Testimony
You may be going through a tough time—brokenness in your health, business, or relationships. You’ve heard others testify of how God rebuilt their lives, but inside you’re asking: “Can God really do that for me?”
The answer is YES.
God can do even more than you imagine—if you ask Him.
The Bible says:
Ask, and it will be given to you (Matthew 7:7).
It’s time to move from simply admiring other people’s testimonies to asking God for your own. Tell Him:
- “Lord, rebuild my business.”
- “Restore my family.”
- “Heal my body.”
When life breaks, God builds back stronger. All He’s waiting for is your invitation.
Lessons for Us Today
- God knows your situation even when it looks hopeless—He knew exactly where Gideon was hiding.
- Complaining doesn’t change your situation—but asking in faith does.
- Your testimony is waiting—but you must desire it and seek it.
- God’s timing is perfect—your encounter might be closer than you think.
Your Step of Faith
Today, make a personal prayer to God:
- Tell Him specifically what you want—restoration in your family, healing in your health, success in your business.
- Ask for an encounter with Him.
- Believe He can do more than you are asking for.
PRAYER:
Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, we ask You to give us the courage to seek Your help and to desire encounters with You instead of complaining over our situations. We believe You can turn our brokenness into testimony. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
If this word has blessed you, comment Amen and share it with someone who needs encouragement today.
